our projects
At L & J Industries, we deliver practical, reliable civil construction, site preparation, and quarry supply solutions across Queensland. Our experienced team and regionally based operations allow us to manage complex works efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and minimising community disruption. From flood recovery and local infrastructure to major renewable energy projects, our commitment to quality outcomes is demonstrated across every project we deliver.
A recent example is the Betterment Floodways package, four floodway and culvert replacements delivered under critical timelines and challenging conditions, including live waterways and significant traffic management needs. Our team developed detailed construction and environmental management plans, and used our paperless safety system to maintain full compliance and clear reporting. Thanks to innovative problem-solving and proactive communication, all sites were completed safely, on time, and to a high standard, with no incidents recorded.
This performance led to further works, including the Rail Trail upgrade and two additional Betterment Packages covering 26 sites across the shire.

These projects required meticulous programming to meet strict government funding deadlines and to ensure multiple sites progressed concurrently. Extensive planning, stakeholder liaison, and months of traffic management preparation, including full road closures and detours, ensured minimal disruption for the community. Despite record rainfall and the impact of Cyclone Alfred, the Rail Trail upgrade was completed on time and without any safety or environmental issues, a testament to our team’s commitment and resilience. Remaining works for the Betterment Packages are on track for completion by late September.
Regionally, we’ve delivered site preparation and civil works for schools, community facilities, and commercial developments, including Hungry Jack’s Kingaroy, St John’s Lutheran School, and Kingaroy State High School’s Agricultural Studies facility. We continue to support local councils with flood recovery services, culvert and drain cleaning, and emergency machinery and labour supply during critical events. Since 2017, we’ve also provided vegetation management for Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council, working respectfully with Traditional Owners to deliver firebreaks, cyclone clean-ups, tree inspections, and reporting.
Complementing our civil expertise is Kingaroy Quarry Supplies (KQS), our fully accredited local quarry operation producing Type 2 and 3 roadbase, aggregates, sand, crusher dust, and specialist products. KQS is a trusted supplier to South Burnett Regional Council and has supplied large volumes of high-quality materials for major renewable energy projects, including Wambo Wind Farm, Niagara Road Wind Farm, and Kingaroy Solar Farm.
From turbine foundations to access roads and stable site pads, KQS products help deliver critical infrastructure that supports the state’s energy future.
Together, L & J Industries and Kingaroy Quarry Supplies offer our clients a complete solution, combining hands-on civil construction capability with dependable, locally sourced quarry materials. Our track record demonstrates our ability to plan, manage, and deliver works that stand the test of time safely, responsibly, and with genuine respect for the communities we serve.

I have worked with the team from L & J Industries and Kingaroy Quarry Supplies for a number of years, initially at Tarong Power Station in my role as Major Maintenance Superintendent with Stanwell Corporation and more recently at the Wambo Wind Farm. Our primary contractors have engaged L & J and KQS to provide machinery and labour to assist with site earthworks, as well as quarry and sand products for the wind farm project.
I have always found the companies very responsive especially for emergency requests; provide excellent value for money; and their project personnel are highly experienced and committed.
I have no hesitation in recommending the team from L & J Industries and Kingaroy Quarry Supplies.
